The month of March is when we raise our voices against oppression, for better labor rights, for life with dignity, and for conditions in which every person should feel free. Does that apply to the Black Experience?

“In places dominated by white people, the black experience is always something to be lived under racial guidelines. If we look at history we can see that our generations, including all human experience, have much to unlearn:

in order for the black experience to be enhanced,

for the black experience to be seen,

for the black experience to be expanded,

for the black experience to be kept delicate can be used

to allow the Black Experience to heal.”

(mirabella paidamwoyo* dziruni)

@mirabella paidamwoyo* Mwoyo Dziruni’s interdisciplinary artistic practice focuses on empowerment and collaborative healing processes. Inspired by everyday life experiences, de-colonial and anti-racist methods are used and elaborated to take up space in diverse public and private spaces, with non-binary, queer, Black aesthetics. Moving bodies, self-presentation, and continuous energy exchange as well as painting, styling and sculpture are the main components for these complex creations, representing visible signs of change.

We also announce a new piece: mirabella paidamwoyo* dziruni – crying through my white mother’s tears, which will premiere 10/03/2023 in brut Wien on @IMAGETANZ 2023. An artist talk will take place after the performance on March 11th.
